1 Day Assistant
Bizzy Bizzy is looking for an awesome tech-savvy assistant to participate periodically in our 1 Day™ Website and other 1 Day™ services.
Our goal with our 1 Day™ services is to help clients grow their businesses in a way that is effective, convenient and interactive. We do this by working in person with the client and the team. We delight the client with our customer service, educate them, and create a remarkable and memorable experience while completing an extraordinary amount of work in surprisingly little time.
As the Assistant, you will take notes during the interview, assist the client with organizing content, sending files, logging in and updating various accounts and other basic computer stuff. You’ll also be assisting the team as needed with other activities. Training will be provided as needed for any web-specific tasks. You may also be asked to help with general office tasks such as ordering food and helping set up and take down equipment, refreshments, clean-up, etc. No experience in marketing or website development necessary.

Here’s Who We Are Looking For:
- You are tech savvy, comfortable working on both Macs and PCs. You haven’t met a software you couldn’t figure out with a few minutes of poking around.
- You have a flexible schedule that accommodates an occasional full day of on-site work.
- You love working with clients, and you enjoy both teaching and learning.
- You are a strong communicator, a great listener and you can type like the wind. Shortcuts are essential to your workflow.
- Working with a team in a collaborative environment appeals to you.
- Finally, entrepreneurship gets you excited. You see the hard work small businesses put into their craft and want to support them.
1 Day™ Website Logistics:
A typical schedule for the 1 Day™ Website will be from 9am – 6:30pm.
Our address is 2002 Atwood Ave. Ste. 211, Madison, WI. This is where the majority of our services will take place. (Unfortunately our office is on the second floor of an old building with no elevator. If you have trouble with stairs, please let us know and we can see if there is something we can do).
Dress code is business casual.
Scheduling: We usually know at least a week in advance (usually more). We’ll send an email out once the date with the client is confirmed to see who is available. As a contractor, you’re free to say yes or no based on your availability. We typically have 1-2 1 Day services per week, and we usually have 2-3 people for each role for maximum flexibility. The more available you are, the more we’ll ask you to join us!
Agenda / Roles
We will have 1 creative director, 1 writer, 1 graphic designer, 1 web designer and 1 Assistant (you) all participating in the 1 Day™ Website sessions.
This is a collaborative environment in which everyone should be ready to step up to help the client or another team member at any time. Everyone should feel comfortable asking the client questions directly and asking for help when needed. Each person will be responsible for a general set of tasks, but the workflow will be flexible depending on the time constraints and the specific needs of the client.
On the day of the event, contractors should follow our standard process and procedures whenever applicable. If you have ideas that would make the work flow or outcomes better, please suggest them! This process will evolve over time, and we appreciate your feedback.
What to Bring
1) Laptop with charger
It’s an all-day event, so you will definitely need to be plugged in. It is also very helpful if you bring a mouse. If you don’t have a laptop, no problem! We can provide one!
2) Software: We’ll be sharing files via Google Drive and Google Docs for file sharing, so you’ll need a Gmail / Google registered account for that. If you don’t have one, we can hook you up.
3) A Positive Attitude
Collaboration is the name of the game in the 1 Day™ Website world, so it is important that you come well rested and ready for a fun day of working directly with a client and a team. Let’s set some goals and crush them together!
4) Your Full Attention
We will be packing a lot of important things into a very short amount of time, so we need you to be fully present. This means taking the day off of other work and responsibilities. There will be breaks during the day when you will be free to check your texts or social media, but plan to be busy nearly all day.
What We’ll Provide
Monitors: We have external monitors available with HDMI cords if you would like to use an additional screen.
Breakfast and Lunch: We normally provide lunch and a light breakfast. Please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions. We have coffee, tea and water available but feel free to bring other beverages.
Let us know if there are other tools that would make your day more productive or comfortable.
The starting pay for an assistant is $100/day. The more experience you have and the longer you work with us, the more you can make! Same-day payment! You may submit an invoice before the 1 Day™ Website, and we will write you a check at the end of the day. There will also be opportunities for training as well as a chance to move up to one of our other roles as a designer, developer or writer over time if that is of interest to you.
Everyone who works on the 1 Day™ Websites are considered 1099 contractors, so we will need you to fill out a W-9 form and a standard privacy agreement and non-compete form before your first gig with us.
