Welcome to Sweet Talk Blog!
2012 has been a big year at iCandy Graphics & Web Design so far! We relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, welcomed another website developer onto the staff, learned some nifty new things, worked on some really cool projects, added many new customers to our roster, and so much more! So after much anticipation (no one but me has been anticipating this actually) I am writing my very first blog post, which I was hoping to do much earlier in the year. But better late than never!
The main purpose of this blog is to provide useful information and resources to our customers or anyone else who stumbles upon our website. I hope to answer some of questions that we get asked on a regular basis about websites, printing terms, file types and general computer usage. We’ll touch on basic things like how to upload an image to Facebook to more complicated topics such as how to determine if an image is high-resolution and suitable for print marketing materials.
I hope that following this blog regularly will help you become a more efficient computer user, help you manage your WordPress website better, and provide you with valuable resources and information that will help you make smart decisions about your business’s web site, graphics, printing and marketing.
But before we get into all that geeky business, I will answer the question I am being asked most often these days, which is “How is Madison?”
In short, Madison, Wisconsin is amazing! My husband and I absolutely love it here! We enjoy being surrounded by so much natural beauty with lakes and parks galore, and also having the unique culture and nightlife of a pretty good size college town. Speaking of college, we attended our first Badgers football game last weekend and joined 90,000 screaming fans in a victory against the University of Illinois (my husband’s alma mater) while freezing our buns off. He wore an Illini shirt UNDER his new Badgers sweatshirt, which is of course symbolic of the fact that while Illinois is still close to our hearts, we don’t want to get jumped in the parking lot. The Wisconsin-Illinois rivalry is alive and well!
While the city’s never-ending fun activities and nearby lakes make Madison an awesome place to live, I have to say the best part about living here has been the people. It seems like everyone you come across whether it is at a professional networking event, a gas station, or walking along the lake trail has a smile on their face and a friendly greeting for everyone. Even the people who work at the DMV seem to be happy! I kid you not. We love it here!
We truly look forward to becoming a part of the Madison community while being constantly appreciative of all our friends, family and customers in Illinois, Montana and everywhere else!
